Rotary International

The Saddleworth Summer Show is organised by two local clubs of Rotary International - the largest service club in the world.

Surplus Funds from the show will go to Charities and Community Projects supported by Rotary.

Rotarians give their services free, so there are no administrative costs taken from the money raised.

Clara’s searching for future Stars

Immerse yourself and celebrate a spectacular musical and performing arts extravaganza at this year’s show.

For example, child performers can compete for one of three age group trophies; Y1-Y6; Y7-Y9 and Y9-Y11.

And the show organisers promise nobody’s forgotten because even if you just simply take to the stage you will get your very own certificate for participating!

The expert adjudicator is Clara Darcy who has performed as a singer, dancer, actress and musician in Oldham and across the Midlands and the north of England.

Recently she took a lead role in the Coliseum’s staging of “Chicago” and has been touring - to rave reviews - for her part as Tara Fitzgerald in “Brassed Off”.

Last year there was a  big and enthusiastic take up of performers from MAHDLO, Saddleworth School and the Caroline Winder School of Dance among others and we are sure it will take off just as well this year.

Dobcross Youth Band will be adding to the musical feast, but the Young Performers Showcase of Music, Drama and Dance looks set to be an outstanding event.

At this stage there is room for youngsters who want to showcase their talents, which could include individual and small groups or bands presenting instrumental, vocal, acting or active e.g.  dance performances.

See the Guidance Notes and complete the Registration Form if you want to take part or contact the show’s musical co-ordinator Mel Farrar: Tel: 0161 633 e-mail:
