Grand Scarecrow Event 3th June 2010
     
Pre and After-School groups and Holiday playgroups in Saddleworth are invited to join our Grand Scarecrow event by designing and making their own scarecrow ahead of the Saddleworth Show on 13th June. Prizes for the best Scarecrow
Already a number of groups have built or promised one but we still have sites available in the villages of Uppermill and Greenfield where the scarecrows will be displayed in the week before the event. The Scarecrows will also be displayed at the Showground (Churchill Playing Fields, Greenfield) as part of a Scarecrow Hunt on the day of the show itself.
All children who come dressed as a scarecrow or with their own scarecrow (it doesn’t have to be full-size!!) will gain free admission to the Show. They will also have free entry to the Scarecrow Competition (to be judged at 2.00 p.m. by Paul Crone) for which there will be valuable prizes.
Children under 10 can play Hunt the Scarecrow throughout the Show with prizes for all who find them. Free entry forms and maps will be available at the gate or at the Scarecrow Stand.
